Meet the Team

Lora Feng – President/CEO

25 years in management consulting, finance, investment and product management and marketing with expertise in cross border business and multiple industries including med tech, biotech, consumer products and financial services.  Assisted with cross border transactions valued over $100M. Former key roles in Fortune 500 companies including Citibank, JP Morgan Chase, Dentsply International, and Colgate-Palmolive with a track record of developing and launching over 50 first in class products, some of which still dominate their categories today. 

MS in Marketing from University of Illinois, USA; BS in Economics from University of International Business and Economics, China; Advanced courses in Financial Investment from Columbia University, Accounting from Stern Business School of NYU; Completion of online courses in biology and immunology.

Jiuguang Song – Sr. Managing Director

30+ years in management consulting, investment and corporate management in healthcare, technology, and PE/VC investment. Head of China for Allied Capital, IBM, Sprint, Palyn Group. 

JD in Law from China Academy of Social Sciences, B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Changchun Institute of Optical and Mechanical Engineering, Advanced Management Program from Stanford Business School.

William Slattery – Sr. Managing Director

30+ years Wall Street banker and advisor, raised capital for hedge funds, fund of funds, and corporations including life sciences and healthcare companies, and closed transactions of over $100M.  Former senior executives for Griswold Company, Spencer Trask Ventures, Extel Financials.

BA in marketing from University of Notre Dame.

Geert Cauwenbergh, Ph.D., Senior Advisor

35+ years of experience in the pharma industry in roles from R&D scientist to senior business executive in MNC, to serial entrepreneur, board director and advisor to public and private life sciences companies.

Dr. Cauwenbergh began his career as a scientist at Johnson & Johnson, later advanced to clinical management and senior management, servicing on the board for a few subsidiaries of J&J. After J&J, he founded a few biopharma companies and successfully exited them through M&A and IPO. Since then, he has been advising and servicing on the board of many public and private companies. He has a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the Catholic University of Leuven of Belgium and is an author of over 100 papers. He is an advisor for Economic Diplomacy for Belgium in the USA and has been inducted in the New Jersey High Tech Hall of Fame.

James Golden – Research Specialist

30 years of experience in all aspects of business management including business planning and analysis, market research, business development, marketing and operations management. He was a founding member of the market intelligence organization at A&T, and spearheaded many operations improvement and revenue generation initiatives in Fortune 500 companies, including AT&T, Verizon, Google, and LinkedIn.

BA in Communications from Rowan University, and executive MBA from Seton Hall University.

Audrey Chen – Venture Partner

25+ years in life sciences with expertise in molecular diagnosis, drug development, screening, clinical trial management, biomarker discovery.  CSO for Cheerland Investment Group, Researcher at the Harvard Medical School focused neurology, oncology,  and hematology

Ph.D. and M.S. in Integrative Medicine from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and M.D. in Integrative Medicine from Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Harry Sun – Venture Partner

15 years in business management and deal making in China in medical technology.  Commercial Strategy Officer at Medtronic China and Sr. Consultant at KPMG.

B.S.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Michigan and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Joint Institute.  Multilingual in Chinese, English, German and French

Robert Galvin – Venture Partner

25 years of experience in corporate finance in Europe with a focus on healthcare and technology. 

Robert began his career at Barclays PLC, moving into the investment banking arm, BZW, to focus on M&A advisory and capital markets.  In 1998, he joined Arthur Andersen and led efforts to consolidate the corporate finance business, from New York and London. He has been advising companies for over 25 years, with a focus on healthcare, sustainability and tech space, and completed transactions in over a hundreds of millions of dollars.

Martin Thorp – Venture Partner

30 years of experience in corporate finance, capital markets and accounting in Europe with a focus on healthcare and technology. 

Martin began his career as a chartered accountant at Arthur Andersen and later  became the founder and global managing partner of the corporate finance arm of the firm.  Martin has been involved in several leading edge private and public technology companies, as a director, adviser and/or investor.  He is also a founding director of a life science investment firm NCL Technology Ventures, and acting CFO of a growing biotech company.
